Hello and welcome to grades 3-5 here at Olympia Christian School! My name is Ms. Morauske and I am the super blessed teacher of this energetic group of young people.
A little about me... I grew up in the little town of Elma not far from here, so I have always considered Washington the place I call home. I grew up loving the great outdoors and the rain doesn't scare me! Perhaps this is why I am always looking for an opportunity to take my students outside. After high school, I moved to Tennessee to go to university and then took my first teaching job in Taipei, Taiwan. Now I'm back! Teaching only 30 minutes from where I grew up! It's been fun to be back in familiar places.
I believe each student is a special individual who is loved deeply and intimately by our Creator God. In each subject, I strive to help each child understand God's true character. Jesus is my best friend and I hope they can learn that He is their best friend too.
Our classroom is an active place. Sometimes it's quiet and other times it's very alive. We are growing in working cooperatively with each other. This is also the time when we start learning to take personal responsibility for our own education. It's not easy, but it's worth it!
You'll notice there is a picture of me climbing Mount Adams. I chose that picture because school and life is very much like climbing a mountain. There are flat places where you can just stroll along and enjoy the scenery. Other places are super steep and it's a lot of work to keep putting one heavy step in front of the other. Perseverance is key to finishing that part of the climb. Some places you get to look around and celebrate how far you've come. Of course, we can't forget the places we get to slide down and enjoy the ride! So wherever you are not alone. We have a helper who will never let us down! So why not, let Him take the climb with you?
